Akira (born 3 June 1997) is an Indian playback singer. Akira re-interprets the original song of Asha Bhosle  AANKHON KI MASTI KE number giving it a modern contemporary feel. While the original song was composed by the legendary Khaiyyaam from the Rekha starrer Umrao Jaan, this reprise version has been recreated by Mika Singh & Ravi Pawar.
She sings in Hindi and Punjabi language films. She sang two songs in the Punjabi film O.G.J  She has lent her voice for the song Ishq Karle Anytime with singers Mika Singh and Sonu Nigam in the film Santa Banta Pvt.Ltd.


Early Life And Background
Akira was born on 3 June 1997 to Rishi Garg and Neena Garg, in the city of Patiala, Punjab. She has been singing since the age of five and has been trained under musicians like Pt Bhimsen Sharma (Chandigarh), Kumar Vinay Ji (patiala), Late Shri shamsher singh Kareer Ji and Mrs Manjit Kaur(Patiala).
Akira participated in the reality show Airtel Awaz Punjab Di and stood as the First runner up in the show, which aired on MH1 channel. The auditions for this show were held in four cities – Amritsar, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, and Delhi. She gave her audition from Delhi and got selected in the top 24 after going through four audition rounds. Later, there were only 12 contestants left in the finals (6 girls and 6 boys) and she was supposed to compete with six girls. She sang one song in the finals in a group of three girls and got selected for the grand finale.
